This photo was part of an exhibit I presented a few years ago at the Jerusalem Cinematheque. It’s one of my favorites — taken in the heart of the Ramon Crater in southern Israel, under a sky full of stars.
As a tour guide and nature lover, I’ve spent countless nights out in the wild, but something about being in the crater at night always moves me. The silence, the vastness, the night sky — it feels ancient. Sacred. I often think of Abraham walking through these same landscapes, looking up at the stars.
It brings to mind the powerful words from Genesis 22:
"I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your seed greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your seed will possess the gate of his enemies."
In times like these, when so much is uncertain, this land and its timeless beauty are reminders of something deeper — a connection that runs through history, faith, and people. This is more than a photograph. This is home.
